[ Shortly, the monitors and the tablets that have been given to you play some lively(?) music, and the voice of a disembodied announcer kicks in: ]

[ CANNED APPLAUSE as Ronald Mcdonald and the Burger King walk onto the set. Ronald begins: ]

Hey, kids! Welcome to the show! I'm your pal, Ronald McDonald, and as always we're going to be kicking off the show with a friendly get-to-know-you game for everyone. Check your tablet for a good way to help you survive in the first round! Some terms and conditions may apply.

[ The King simply stares. He is watching you. He is always watching. ]

...there are a lot of words I don't know, but I'm still learning.

Yeah! A tablet is what we call that.

[She looks down at the tapping and is satisfied by its quality.]

I guess you're figuring things out.

...why is it called a 'tablet'?

[ that makes her think of like. stone blocks ancient civilizations write on because they don't have paper. ]

[keybroad]

Uhhhhhhhhhh...

[It's an English loan word, don't ask her!!! She works in computers, though. She can come up with something.]

It's because you can touch it and make stuff happen. Just like a tablet was a cool invention because you can etch into it.

[rowboats]

Oh, that makes sense.

I have one more question. Is green your favorite color?

[ you're wearing a lot of it, Lotus ]

Yeah. It is. Leaves on trees, stems on flowers, those are all great.

I like red the best, but green is pretty, too.

[ Mary, for instance, has a pretty-ass dress. ]

Do you invite relatives from all over the place? I don't usually get to go that far.

Mmmhmm! Mother invites her friends from work, too, so it gets pretty crowded.
