I mean, maybe, but what if a kid is like an orphan and their grand prize is getting adopted by loving, wealthy parents?
refusedtoleave: (Don't look)

[personal profile] refusedtoleave 2017-04-24 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
From what my grand prize is, I don't believe it's possible. The consolation prize would be good enough, would it it?

[personal profile] keybroad 2017-04-24 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Skeptical wiggly hand gesture]

Well, it's not like we can just ask. But if any of them is like "dang it, I couldn't think of a better prize than TWO trips to Disneyland", I really like the way you think.

Well no. But they're children. They could have be promised anything.

[Nervous laughter]

A pony?
refusedtoleave: (Um)

[personal profile] refusedtoleave 2017-04-25 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
With some of the children I've met, that's fully possible. You know, one of my nieces wants to be a witch when she grows up. Guess what her prizes would be... It's just how children are.
keybroad: (Think)

[personal profile] keybroad 2017-04-26 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
But I don't think I was ever being asked what I wanted for my prize. They could still be getting offered something Wed agree they actually needed.
refusedtoleave: (7)

Her prize is spoilers so don't look

[personal profile] refusedtoleave 2017-04-26 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I know that much... My wish is something I never expected, or thought possible. I'm curious as to how they found out about it.
keybroad: (Think)

Everyone in the Umineko cast is working so hard to protect our virgin eyes

[personal profile] keybroad 2017-04-26 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Thought possible?

[To Lotus that implies not so much an implausible miracle as the kind of thing a human being would give up upon. But she doesn't want to push Natsuhi]

It'll be interesting if they try to present us with proof.
refusedtoleave: (Default)

I've already spoiled one person, luckily it's so vague that they're excited to get to it

[personal profile] refusedtoleave 2017-04-26 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
If they do, I hope it's in private. The last thing I need is Eva...[Cutting herself off, you don't need to that.]

[Eyebrows going up really high]

She seems to be the most... memorable sister???

[How does she politely ask why both Natsuhi and Rosa are really scared of her]

The fact some of us are standing here and now should be enough proof the organizers of this mess have way more control over life and reality than one'd think.

[Oh, sorry, Ayato couldn't avoid hearing part of this conversation. There he is]

It's true someone like me may be the odd one here, but I believe the organizers may have powers beyond our imagination.

What are you talking about? Other than the odd differences in time I haven't noticed anything.

[You might as well be speaking gibberish to her.]

I'm going to be honest about this, even if it sounds like I'm raving.

[After a dramatic pause:]

I'm dead, and I have been dead for a long while already. For me to be alive again -- that's not something any random person can do.

[Well at least he didn't mention he's God, now that'd be even harder to believe -- mostly because it isn't true]

[Turning her gaze from Natsuhi to this guy] How can you have been dead for a while? Don't you not know anything when you're dead? Because if you were literally in heaven or something watching time pass, that's really different from anything we know happens in our worlds! [Not that she's directly heard about Natsuhi's world - she assumes it's her own]

[personal profile] godvicepresident 2017-04-25 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
I was in the afterlife, to be exact. You could say it was purgatory. The only way to pass onto whatever comes next was to feel satisfied with ourselves. We had achieved it, but...

[Ayato gestures around]

But instead of not existing anymore now I'm here. I'm not sure yet if I should be glad or very annoyed.

Maybe the... sleeping gas started working on you at the same time that you thought you were fading out of existence?

[A shrug...]

I'm sorry to hear all that. But if it's true, it's way beyond my ken.

Better me than anyone else, anyways. The rest of the people I knew were hopelessly dim -- with one single exception.

[What a bunch of idiots the rest of the Angel Beats cast was, in Ayato's opinion. "Except you, Otonashi, you're outstanding"]

Thank you, though. It's strange to be around people again, especially adults.

I hope we're providing you a good influence.

[Most of the people she's met so far reinforce her preexisting notions that adults are responsible and children need support.]

[personal profile] godvicepresident 2017-04-25 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
The only influence on me so far is from that guy with the robot arm who managed to lose a push-up contest against me.

[He sounds curiously proud about beating him, for some reason]

You're right, you do sound mad.

[At least she's honest? But she's just gonna roll with it for now.]

You're saying that bringing you make to live would be difficult but possible where you're from, correct? ...I know that such a thing is impossible where I'm from. Unless a hospital is able to resuscitate, then it just doesn't happen.

You got it wrong. It'd be impossible back at my world. Why'd anyone have the power to bring anyone back to life? Yet here I am, alive and not in the afterlife anymore.

[He opens his arms a bit]

You get it now?

[There's a sigh, and she just looks at him for moment.]

You do realise, I have no reason to believe this, don't you? It's something to keep in mind, but I have my doubts.
godvicepresident: (23)

[personal profile] godvicepresident 2017-04-25 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
It doesn't matter if you believe it or not. Lack of belief doesn't change facts.

[At least he's pretty sure he's right about that]

Besides you are here. Aren't we all from different places and worlds? People don't just gather from different worlds by accident or coincidence.
refusedtoleave: (This way)

[personal profile] refusedtoleave 2017-04-25 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I already know that! Everything about this sounds impossible. But what kind of person would accept it all at face value.
