Day 2, continued

[ Around lunchtime, the tablets and screens located all around the studio turn on, in the way that they always do when the mascots have something to announce. Unusually, however, there is no music, no fanfare; the camera is out of focus, and Ronald doesn’t even seem to be looking at it. Instead, he's turned to King, ]

—supposed to be 40! What the McFuck are you doing? Can you even count?

[ The King stares. ]

You gave out 41! The Colonel would never screw up like that!

[ The King stares. ]

And what's this, "Quarter Pounder or Whopper" garbage? Those aren't equivalent burgers, you fake-grill-line-adding piece of shit! I'd better not see this referencing this in your next ad campaign!

[ The King offers a Whopper. Ronald McDonald smacks it out of his hand. He starts to yell again, but cuts himself off, turning his head toward the camera. ]

—Are we rolling!? Grimace, kill the feed!

[ The screens switch off. ]

((lol I goofed, there are actually 41 votes to go around.

Vote here!

I have a question for either of you.

[The sound of crackling fire indicates the moment when Lotus appears behind them, eyes shut, smiling, immensely dangerous. (This is an abstraction, like in an anime.) Should they actually turn around, she's leaning forward with her arms crossed, serious.]

Based on your past experience, do you think it's safer to use the two spare votes to hotel two people, instead of just one?

[ spins around ]

Holy shiiiiihhhey! Where did you come from?

If you say anything about heaven, I'll send you there.

But seriously, we're gonna have to start almost from scratch, Zelda might need another clipboard.

No, I don't think you will. If you've figured out who's going out, just put the extra vote there. I highly doubt they'd actually send two people to the hotel at once.

Really? I'm listening, but I don't get it. Isn't one disqualification a pretty slow start to the game?

Sure, but they're banking on us screwing it up.

Just abstentions? Or worse?
godhole: (4)

[personal profile] godhole 2017-04-26 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Believe me, you do not want to abstain. Last time, they were killing somebody almost every round for that.

Last time, the voting system worked differently, but it had the same basic, "if you can coordinate, nobody will die" sort of setup. We didn't manage it even once.

I have no intention of abstaining myself. I'm just saying if people only die because they forget or are protesting, that's kind of depressing... so you're saying there is a precedent for "worse" voting plans.
godhole: (9)

[personal profile] godhole 2017-04-26 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
That's exactly what I'm saying.

[personal profile] keybroad 2017-04-26 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
So... can I ask, do you think all the defecting non-abstainers are just going to vote for that girl who volunteered to go to the hotel or what?
godhole: (12)

[personal profile] godhole 2017-04-26 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
I mean, maybe. Hell if I know what these people are thinking. Last time we had a kid who defied the vote and ended up killing himself. Like, literally that was the only possible outcome of doing it.

[ That isn't what happened at all that round, but Dennis doesn't know any better. ]

???

That's terrible but I guess the problem was over for better or worse.
