To be fair, people thought that manatees were mermaids but they learned that giant squids are real.

Did you know they have an even BIGGER giant squid out there now? Like... All of these huge creatures are right under our noses.

Did you know that they dived deep into the ocean and they found these squid they thought were really huge and then they brought them up and they were tiny as fuck? They looked like they were going to be the hugest squid ever but then they were as tiny as the end of pinky fingers.

I was reading a few years ago that they found a squid that was so huge, it--

Here! Let me show you. [ Setting her books down, Kanan darts off to fetch a pencil and a little notebook. Flipping to a page, she begins drawing a little scale model of a person... And then one squid... ]

So the giant squid is measured to be about 13 meters long. Which in comparison to a human is pretty big. HOWEVER... [ Above the two she draws a BIGGER SQUID. ]

The colossal squid is estimated to be 15 meters long. And that's only by the one specimen that they discovered. It died shortly after so the tissues in its body shrunk considerably.

Can you imagine...?

[ Scribble. ] You know how squid have suction cups on their arms? Colossal squid have hooks in theirs. [ Followed by a very scientific sketch of said arm hooks. ]

Not yet. I still have to graduate and do more shows. I have a couple obligations to stick to being an Idol for a while.

[ He sits up straighter and looks interested. ]

That's right. I'm a School Idol on the days I'm not studying or working. We basically raise money to support our school through live shows and dance competitions against other schools.

I had tried it once before with two of my other friends and it... Kind of fell through. Eight other girls decided to form a bigger one and I got roped into it by one of them. It's a long story but Dia-san and Mari-san needed me.

[ He frowns deeply. ]

You know Mari-san? Mari Ohara? Have you stayed at one of her father's hotels before? I grew up with her. She's one of my best friends.

It was a misunderstanding. She is sort of like the manager of our group. [ A beat. ] I haven't seen her around over the last few weeks. Her father likes to take her on trips a lot but she usually tells us ahead of time.

It's kind of bugging me since she hasn't answered her phone either... She's usually all over our group chats.

Well, maybe it was a surprise trip. She only usually does, right? So this is the exception.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I was going to trade with Natsuhi-san. I wanted to give my vote to Matt-san because he doesn't have one but I couldn't risk not having a buffer under myself.

She's really sweet and wants to make all of this as organized as possible.
