Yeah, that's one thing. Someone poisoned the alcohol source and the soda source. The latter didn't have enough time to take effect, but the former sure s hell took out a lot of people.

But this one affects me more personally. Here, follow me for a second.

[ Beckons him over to a discrete corner. ]

[Ouma pouts a bit for some reason. Is it the mention of soda poisoning? Or something else?]

Here. [ Aoi pulls his tshirt off then turns around. There's a pretty messy scar on his left shoulder blade, about an inch long and thicker than it should be considering the implement that caused it. ]

This is what I got last round for my trouble.

[ shrugs his shirt back on. ]

My sister plotted to get me stabbed and I let her, is the short version of the story. I tried to take ahold of the situation and got severely aggroed upon as a result. It was kinda my fault. Nearly died. Lost a litre of blood, broke my arm, other crap too.

Somehow won the game anyway.

[Ouma stared for a moment. He had no idea what to make of it.]

[Aoi's own sister tried to kill him? And he let her try?!]

[It wasn't long before Ouma's shock turned to smiling, though there was still a look of tension in his eyes.]

I knew it! You can't fully trust anyone in a game like this?

That's not actually true. That's not the point here. My sister - that's another thing entirely. This is just how she is.

I'm just trying to show you how deep this rabbit hole can go. People can really fuck with each other here to try to get the prize. If you do find someone you can trust - then hang onto that.

[He chuckles darkly, like someone truly deserving of his talent.]

Of course they would. People get desperate like that, y'know. I do appreciate the heads up...

Shit doesn't usually hit the fan till near the end.

[He skips on over to catch up to Aoi.]
