More like I thought I was fighting a battle I was going to inevitably lose. You attract all kinds of people in more ways than one. Anyone would have gathered their courage to confess to you before me, for all I know. So... It's not that I wanted you to. Far from that. I'm just honestly surprised you didn't react like I feared.

[...Ranulf is wincing at listening to himself say this. Gods, he's not very particular to showing that kind of vulnerability. But he just said it without even thinking it. Ike's NEXT statement made his cheeks full on flush pink. His ears lower as he had a pout on his face. But despite how fussy he looked, his hand caresses Ike's cheek.]

[Lowers his face to the side of Ranulf's neck. Sighs warmly.]

[He'd argue that he totally is thinking of himself, but his mind short circuits for a moment when he feels Ike against him. His arms go back to wrapping around Ike almost as if he was making sure this was all real and won't wake up right after this. e lets his cheek nuzzle against that darker blue hair. ]

You never did worry about what others thought. I guess that's one thing about you that's got me here with you right now. ...Hard to believe you called me a sub-human the first time we met. [He's teasing and aware that wasn't on purpose. He hopes Ike knows that.]

[A chuckle will be coming from Ranulf as he ran a hand up and down Ike's back and gave a quick kiss to the top of Ike's head, his hum sounds more like purring. ]

Relax~. I'm not so thin-skinned that I'd hold grudges for something like that. Wouldn't be too helpful to his majesty if I was. I've dealt with far worse things from beorc in the past, anyway.

And I'm glad it happened, because I got to see what an interesting person you were. I have been fascinated by you for a while.
