You make it sound like doing "not enough" is worse than doing "nothing". Are you one of those people who points out that under common law you get arrested for shoving one man in front of a trolley to stop it from hitting five people on the tracks, not arrested for not doing it? I'm just curious.

I'm one of those people who doesn't like having to do damage reduction instead of actually solving the problem. You wanna pick who lives and who dies? You wanna be the one responsible for everything that person goes on to do in life, and everything the dead guys didn't do?
