[A wall panel in the green room slides out of view, revealing an elevator. Get in it and it will take you down to the hotel (description here), where your fellow contestants - alive and ghostly - await.

You may spend as long as you want here, ordering up as much room service as you like, but when you're read to go home, you'll find that one floor (new to the current hotel occupants) has nothing but doors with your names on them. Exit, and you'll show up exactly where you were when you left.]

What could be worth all this? My prize will help now. But the issue would have been resolved 10 years from now.

I meant what I said, the first day. That I was okay with maybe dying if it meant I had a chance to win. That's because...me and Mary were stuck in a dangerous place. I came really close to dying a few times already...and if we didn't find a way out, we could have starved. My big prize is to be able to go home safely with her and my other friend.

[ She was damned either way, so she didn't mind betting her own life. Everyone else's, though-- ]

But if it meant Ene and the others could still be okay...I don't know. I want to go home, but now they never can.

I see, I wish you could have told me... The others wouldn't listen when I mentioned it. 'How would a child know what danger is?' [A sigh.]

It wasn't your fault. Something along these lines was going to happen at some point. Just it was more chaotic than we could have thought.

I think so. She doesn't like to be alone, even for a little bit.

[ Which Ib is assuming is stress from being trapped alone in the gallery for so long. It's not a wrong assumption, but........... ]
