Day 3

[ A bright new day has dawned, maybe. It's not like you can see the outside world. But the tablets keep diligent track of time, and promptly at 6am they provide something for you: A new immunity challenge. ]

Vote thread. Again, DO NOT FORGET TO VOTE. I will actually idle people this week!))

Right. I want us to all work together. I don't want anyone else to get hurt.

[Not even Matt Engard.]

But I'm not sure what else we could do to bring everyone together either.

When it comes to motivation, there are several different viable methods.

One: you can appeal to a person's morality. Vote this way because it's the 'right' thing to do.

Two: you can appeal to their emotions. Vote this way because I'm begging you, and I've been nice to you.

Three: you can appeal to their greed. Vote this way because I'm offering you a bribe.

Four: you can appeal to their desire to avoid pain. Vote this way because if you don't, I will punish you terribly.

Five: you can just ask and hope the novelty of the idea will entice them. Certainly Ticky Mikk seemed motivated by 'I want to see what happens' to enter his vote a certain way.

One is impossible for two reasons. Either they have no morals, or they view the execution of a person they have a reason to attempt to kill with their vote as 'justified'.

Two is impossible because some people are lacking the capacity to respond emotionally to others.

Three is impossible because, aside from the money provided to us as a prize, we do not have anything worthwhile as a bribe. Even then, the emcees are both providing their own bribes for cooperation.

Four is possible, but it would require an organized effort to physically administer the punishments. Furthermore, due to the anonymous nature of the voting, it would be very difficult to conclusively state who voted for whom, and therefore, who actually deserves punishment.

And five... well, that's just beyond desperate, isn't it?

That's a really impressive analysis.

[What it means though it not as cool.]

So... basically, as long as the votes continue to be anonymous, there's really nothing we can do.

[giggles] I know.

Well, even if they weren't, there's nothing exactly physically stopping people from voting. Short of beating them up, physically taking away their tablet, and confining them somewhere.

...Somehow, I think you and I would lack the stature for such a thing.

Hmmm... Well-- I'll hold their arms while you strike?

[Maya grins. It's a joke. Probably.]

Mais, non! I would surely damage my own hands more than their bodies would ever be harmed.

Incidentally...

You said something very interesting earlier, Miss Fey.

'Kurain Channeling Technique?' 'Spirit Medium?'

Are you really claiming to possess supernatural powers? You are not in league with that Reigen Arataka, are you?
