Aah, I have a degree, and I was a specialist for a firm for a year.

Sounds a lot more legitimate than being a psychic. What does your business do again?

The service I provide now is much more important! I do consultations for spiritual disturbances. Remove curses and possessions, reinforce protection charms, clear new properties of hauntings, investigate claims of ghosts or demonic mischief, seances, that kind of thing.

It was tough at first, but there's nothing like being your own boss. It's really taken off lately, thanks to my city being the center of a huge incident.

An incident, huh? That seems to be how a lot of businesses take off. What kind of incident?

Coordinated esper attack. I was pretty certain that was going to be the most danger I've ever experienced in my life but, actually, I've seen more dead bodies today.

Nooo idea what that means, but okay. How many bodies have there been so far... only like four, right?

Only? What are you used to?

Depends. I had a pretty good streak for a while, but also a pretty... bad... streak before then.

"Only four bodies" sounds like a bad streak, alright. I thought you were a futuristic space businessman...

Well, business can be rough in future space. And even more so on Pandora, where you're lucky if you see less than four bodies on the way to breakfast.

Pandora?... Like, an alien planet? Wasn't there a movie about that? I guess it's an obvious name...

Yes, that is the basic idea. One of the most hostile, lawless planets in the galaxy. Run by crazy bandits, and basically all the wildlife is deadly.

Wow. And you see bodies every single day. That sounds like a hell I do not want in the future.

Eh. It has its ups and downs.

...Not the seeing lots of bodies part, I'm not excited by lots of dead bodies either. The future in general. If you want to call it that.

Well, that's good to know, I guess. Though not really relevant to me in my time! Other than how we're in this together now, somehow across space and time.
