ROUND 4 DAY 4 - HAUNTED HOUSE PARTY

[For some reason, you feel good today...stronger. Which is great, maybe you're just psyched up for the latest ~fabulous event~ cooking from the ConAgra-McKee Foods kitchens...

[The Newlydead Game^TM ✨Super-Special✨ 👻Spooktacular🎃! 🗡Murdermance💘 at the 💀Murder Manse🏚!

[The house is a huge, Victorian monstrosity straight out of the mental idea of an Edgar Allen Poe story--delicate wrought-iron chandeliers and candelabra hanging from vaulted ceilings; ornately carved molding and flocked wallpapers, mosaics and inlaid wood floors. Most of the rooms seem legitimately old, cobwebbed and musty, with dusty dropcloths laid over the faded furniture, and distressing shadows cast in the flickering candlelight that never fails to not light up every corner, no matter how many candles are set up. You're not sure how the cameras are picking all this up with how dark it is. You honestly wouldn't be surprised if some of the taps in the bathroom actually run blood. A few of the rooms are locked, in particular a few bedrooms on the upper floors, and a heavy door off the mud room that's chained and padlocked; presumably it leads to a cellar.

[The exception to this is the conservatory, the one large room in a building filled with tiny, closed off rooms. One wall is lined with massive paned windows, another a huge fireplace, the others covered in stern portraits and other random Victorian-area knick knacks. And sprinkled around all of that are Halloween decorations, the kind more Pottery Barn than Party City. It's set for a party, complete with games like bobbing for apples and a spread of fancy Halloween "finger" foods and drinks that glow under black light. A playlist of seasonal hits like Spooky or The Addams Family Groove toots along near a dance floor. Need an outfit for the costume contest? There's plenty. There's also a smoke machine and a photo booth. In the backyard is a corn maze.]

Hellooo contestants, guess what time it isss? Why, it's only the best time of the year for sweeties like us! Time for Pumpkin Delights and Black Cat Brownies, the perfect treats to give to your trick-or-treaters this year! Now, even though someone's given US a trick today, we've provided a treat for you--a Halloween ball! Play with your fellow Casanovas, make your best impressions, and grab your favorite Sexy Pizza Rat cosplay! At the end, you'll get to choose from all the remaining contestants for your Marry-Kiss-Kill. And remember what we talked about last night--this time, if you deal to make it even, you're all going to be punished!

[Rise and Yusuke fall and fall until... the TV spits you back out, glasses and mask respectively in place.]

[Akechi jumps back and ends up stumbling into the lap of the thing in the rocking chair, which was, incidentally, a plastic skeleton.]

Wh-what was that!?

[WHY DOES THE METAVERSE ALWAYS HAVE TO INVOLVE SO MUCH FALLING

Until it doesn't, and Yusuke finds himself faceplanted on the floor.]

Ugh... Kujikawa-san, are you all right?

[risetting]

I can't believe this!

[ she gracefully fell on her butt, but she's fine ] Ugh, that was annoying. I'm fine, though.

[Akechi pulls out his cell phone and turns it on.]

[wantsnudes]

Thank goodness.

[He gets to his feet, realising they're right back in the room they just left with Akechi, and--]

--Wait, my clothes changed?! What's going on?

[risetting]

I have my glasses on, too. Not that I need them if this isn't the TV world, but, hold on, let me try something.

[ if she closes her eyes and concentrates, will she be able to summon her Persona now? ]

[risetting]

[ WELL THEN

[welp, time to summon his own Persona. fluffy storm god, I choose you]

[Looks between their Personas]

[Looks at his phone]

[Taps on his app :/ ]

Whatever you're doing, I'm sure it's not going to work, Akechi-kun. For some reason, going into the TV is what gave us access to our Personas again.

[wantsnudes]

Yes, forget the Nav, Akechi. Just do as we did.

[sighs and hops into the TV]

[wantsnudes]

[Yusuke's just gonna examine the rest of the room while they wait. What's with the plastic skeleton, anyway?]

[It's super spooky, okay!!!]

[Anyway, Akechi is back—wait, no he isn't. Actually, the channel changed, and now there's a fast food mascot there, live in black and white.]

You Millennials. Not everything is a touchscreen, you know!

[risetting]

[ HOLY FUCK

just give her a moment to proverbially scream out of her skin ]

What did you do with Akechi-kun?!

[ her Persona is still there so thankfully she can attempt a scan with that, given that's one of the only things she's good for. anything unusual here? she'll also be expanding her scope to the rest of the area even outside the room if she can to see if she can find Akechi. but anything else is cool, too. ]

[Yusuke grits his teeth.] You'd best not hurt him!

[While Rise attempts to scan for Akechi, Yusuke goes to the TV and tries to change the channel back. He has no idea how to work a 1950s TV, but maybe if he messes with one of the dials...]

[The dial turns back to static, and Akechi pops out in his Disney prince plague mask outfit, looking bewildered and holding a Happy Meal.]

[Here's what Rise learns from her scan: Ronald's broadcast isn't far away; it's coming from somewhere in the house. And there's something outside the house. Something living, something moving, something that hears your ping, and pings you right back.]

[Meanwhile, the TV dial turns itself back to Ronald's channel.]

That's so rude! Do you always change the channel when someone is trying to lecture you?

[risetting]

[ she's.... not sure if that ping was good or bad, but at least Akechi's safe? for now, anyway. but if Ronald's going to talk, Rise's going to attempt to smile - in a way that's a little strained. ]

Sorry, but we were worried about our friend... Um, anyway. You don't happen to be the one that's behind what happened with the votes, are you?

What a meaningless question... I don't even have a TV.

[Take that sick (?) burn, Ronald. Akechi seems to be fine, though, so Yusuke will otherwise stay quiet for now while Rise questions him.]
