[ Did everybody sleep well? At promptly 6 AM, or at least what the tablets proclaim to be 6 AM, Ronald bursts in with the morning announcements. ]

Good morning, kids! Today we have a fantastic new game for you to play, and we think you'll have a lot of fun! It's fun, it's a classic, iiiiiiiiit's



[ The feed switches off, but only for a second before flicking back on so Ronald can add: ]

Oh, by the way, Seven died trying to escape.

Maybe it wasn't the right person.

I doubt that. Isn't Santa supposed to be immortal?

[ He thinks about his consolation prize and smiles. ]

[exequte]

[She looks at him with a little bit of suspicion when he does that.]

What's that for?

[jinglebros]

What's what for?

[ He shrugs and tries to look innocent. ]

[exequte]

Don't you trust me too?

[jinglebros]

What.

[ He gives her a Look. ]

You're playing dirty, Akane.

[exequte]

It's an honest question!

[Innocent. Virtuous. Wounded. A moment later, in a smaller voice:]

If you're just trying to protect me, you don't always.

[jinglebros]

...I'm trying to protect me.

[ He sighs. ]

[exequte]

Can't I help? I feel like I always make you do everything.

[jinglebros]

...give me a hug?

[ It's all he can think of right now. ]

[exequte]

[She stands up and pulls him up with her so she can pull him into a proper hug, a tight one, where she's clearly not planning to let go for a while.]

You know I'm always with you, don't you?

[jinglebros]

[ Except when you're dead, he thinks but doesn't say. He clings to her a little too tightly. ]

Yeah, I know.

[exequte]

Always.

[Firmly.]

[jinglebros]

[ He pulls back a little and looks her in the eyes. ]

But what if something else takes you away?

[exequte]

Do you really think anything could? After all we've gone through? I might not be here like... like this, but that doesn't mean I won't be with you.

[jinglebros]

[ He nods. He finds comfort in that, and he finally manages a slight smile. ]

You realize you're promising to haunt the fuck out of me, right?

[exequte]

I'm the one who's always talking about ghosts.

[jinglebros]

Ghosts and curses. I welcome either from you. Do your best and worst.

[exequte]

No. Not my worst. I'd certainly never want to curse you.

[jinglebros]

Okay. But please haunt me, and I'll do the same to you. We'll be awesome ghosts together.
