Day 9 - The Dating Game

ICly, this game is played on your tablet, and can only be activated when you're alone in your dressing room. You can play vocally or text-based, but either way they come out on the other end as pure text and/or read by a computerized voice.

FIRST DAY (until 7:00PM PST tomorrow; an extra day since I got it up late):

ETA NAH LET'S EXTEND IT INTO THE NIGHT. Second half is just reveals anyway! I'll get it around noonish tomorrow.

🍔  Make a toplevel for your character, starting off with some kind of open-ended question. Your tablet provides some example questions, and you are free to steal one or invent your own.

🍔  Everyone else replies to the toplevel anonymously! Lying, kissing ass, or pretending to be someone else are allowed and frankly ENCOURAGED.

🍔  While there are no hard rules against any sort of questions, for the part of the questioner, trying to suss out identities goes against the principle of the thing and will be looked upon harshly by Ronald and the King. This is a dating game, so relax and try to find your perfect romantic match!

🍔  After someone replies, the questioner can ask up to three more questions to each anon. Anons, stay in your threads.

SECOND DAY (until 6:00PM PST Sunday)

🍔  I'll make a new thread, where everybody can announce which of their anons they would most want to date!

🍔  Winning anon, reveal yourself!

🍔  You don't actually have to go on a date (it will not count against you), but if you'd like to, a ~romantic, off-menu dinner~ will be provided

We can start with that, at least. I like hamburgers as much as the next guy, but I'm not going to turn down something else after a week and a half. At this rate I'll ruin my characteristic slender figure.

I'm sure you would still be popular even so, but it is a lot of hamburgers. If whatever they give us is just the same ingredients done differently though, I'm going to riot.

Yeah, I sure hope not. We did a cooking competition with ingredients from the kitchen last time and I'm not sure I'd feed any of it to someone I disliked, let alone a date. I hope it'll be something nice, though. It'd make a better show that way, probably. Romance blossoming amidst adversity and all that.

....That sounds awful, but you have a good point. I'm sure it would be a good boost to ratings, they can appeal to multiple audiences. Shall we give them a good show?

Oh, definitely.

Can I meet you at the bar in about half an hour then? I feel like I might as well get dressed up, make it fun, you know?

Sounds good to me. I can get cleaned up a bit too.

[As she says half an hour later she's sitting at the bar having fixed up her makeup and found a slinky black dress in the costume room. It's more fun to play along, and might be good for her chances at that. And anyway even if it's not a real date, it's still what you're supposed to do right? Get dressed up and try to impress.]

Alcohol won't mess with the hardware, will it?

[ For Rhys's part, he has taken off his jacket and vest, putting him down to just his black dress shirt, cuffs rolled up to his elbows baring both his metal wrist and the wrist she tattooed for him.

He has also apparently scavenged a red tie from the costume room, which he has put on. At least it's a normal tie. ]

Nope, it's all fully alcohol and drug-safe. Would be kind of a shame otherwise. You look good.

Thanks, so do you. At least if nothing else they're giving us the supplies to play dressup.

[Subpar food, but a well stocked costume room, great. very important.

Are those sort of parts what your business does?

Among other things, yeah. Atlas is pretty deep into robotics and cybernetics. In the past they made some of the best weapons in the galaxy, too, but I'm trying to diversify more outside of that. I've got some new patents on interesting technology that might help us dominate the travel industry in a few years.

[He takes the drink gratefully.]

You did these yourself?

I mean - I must be hundreds of years behind your time, so I have no idea how it compares for other products and skills where you come from, but even so, that's really amazing.

Yeah, I mean, I didn't do it... manually, there were computers and manufacturing facilities involved. It's not actually my specialty, but they always say necessity is the mother of invention.

Sure, it's the same with any product really, you come up with the idea or blueprint and a machine or assembly line throws it together. But you still had to figure it out. I'm guessing they have special functions, and not just ornamentation?

Yup. The eye's an ECHOeye, it can scan people or objects and give me information on them. Though most of the functionality's out of operation here. The hand has a local database and a holo-display, I can use it to show images or video. Make calls, operate consoles, that sort of thing. All that functionality is pretty standard. really, I just improved the aesthetics and added a few extras.

That all sounds pretty useful, but being able to get information on things and people just by looking at them...

[That one's just, wow. At least with the hand it's something that can be likened to a computer, even if it's so much more advanced, but scanning people?? She wishes, her job could be so much easier.]

I've got to ask, does it give you anything on me?

Nah... like I said, there's no ECHOnet connection here, so I can't actually get most of the information I usually could. Basic statistics, that's all.
