Honestly the way you've been introducing yourself and just talking makes it seem like your personality is bad. Being a great detective in a place with murders happening? That's just a big red flag right there and of course I'm going to put my vote on it.

...One would think that punishment would be used for people who commit actual crimes, not for Great Detectives who attempt to solve them.

I think it's quite simple really, you gave off the vibe of someone who is a wildcard to a game. I think that's really something to look out for in this situation considering it's life or death.
