That's quite the question, but I did open myself up to it.

[Kyrie certainly can't hide her shock for being asked something like that so quickly. And she does consider lying. But no doubt a lie wouldn't earn any points, and she isn't going to waste that.]

...Don't misunderstand though, I love him too. It's just...it's difficult to look at him.

[If she has to tell any of the Ushiromiyas something like that, frankly she's glad it's Rosa. Somehow she feels she would understand the best.]

--Oh, God! 'Given up,' how? On him coming back to me? On finding him and gutting his heart out, or other parts of him?

[she laughs, ruefully, though it's a little forced]

Gutting him sounds the most drastic, let's go with that one.

[She feels that, deep in her soul. At least a pair of women scorned can commiserate.]

...Tempting. You know, in my wildest dreams I thought something like that. If I had a lot of money, hire a private investigator who could work internationally, find where he went, what kind of lifestyle he's leading... 'Then what'? I don't know. A hired assassin would probably be more than he'd be worth.

It'd be nice to know he was suffering, though. That he had... regrets.

Honestly? I think anyone would feel that way.

[It might be a bit morbid, but after being treated like that, who wouldn't feel like revenge, or want to know they're suffering too?]

Yeah... that hurts the most. The idea that he's out there having a great time without a care for me or Maria. If I thought he was destitute or in his own shit situation... I could maybe take a little solace in that. Though, then maybe I wouldn't want to risk knowing how good he has it...

Anyway, does that answer it? I hardly expect him to come back with some souvenirs and tell me he's ready to settle down. But, I don't think I'll ever be able to 'give up' on the pain he caused me.

You've answered with flying colours, and I happen to think it's a pretty good stance to have too.

It's too bad it takes something like this to be so honest with one another really.

I don't think I could stand too much of this honesty... I mean, it's nice of you to sympathize Kyrie-nee-san, but I'm sure the rest of the family thinks I got what I deserved.

Even if we didn't love the same man, I doubt we could have gotten along. But regardless of any of that, it meant Ange could be properly recognised, and of course that I could finally be with Rudolf.

[But yeah, she also hated her that much. Even more than anyone could ever imagine.]

[It's not exactly something she wants to admit if it isn't already known.]

Yes. I was already pregnant at the time, and I was practically ill with worry over what would happen.

[Especially considering it wasn't the first time she was going to have Rudolf's child out of wedlock...]

He's pretty good at that, it must be some sort of talent.

[At least it's Rosa she told, she'd have to be more understanding than anyone else.]

Were you like that with Maria too? Worried about what people would think, about one or both of you?

No, because I thought her father was going to marry me. If I needed a maternity wedding gown, so be it.

[she said, bitterly, without any hint of joking]

If you mean 'now'... the teachers at Maria's school know better than to mention it.

Who would even mention it to begin with, as if it's any of their business, and it isn't even that uncommon anymore. But I guess some people are stuck in the past.

You mean design one? ...I guess I could've, but that's too much work.
