Game 2, Day 3

[ Did everybody sleep well? At promptly 6 AM, or at least what the tablets proclaim to be 6 AM, Ronald bursts in with the morning announcements. ]

Good morning, kids! Today we have a fantastic new game for you to play, and we think you'll have a lot of fun! It's fun, it's a classic, iiiiiiiiit's



[ The feed switches off, but only for a second before flicking back on so Ronald can add: ]

Oh, by the way, Seven died trying to escape.

[ He opens his eyes and gapes again. ]

Shit! I dare you to kick me in the nuts for that!

[ ...AND THEN HE REALIZES WHAT HE SAID AND STARTS TO RUN ]

[It takes her a second to get her balance back, at which point he has a head start. There is consequently nothing to do but try to run him down.]

I can't do it if you don't hold still!!

I changed my fucking mind!

[ Run, Santa, run! ]

You can't take back dares!!

[She chases him for maybe another minute, but she's only just recovering from dying still, after all, and Santa is easily in better shape than she is.

With this in mind, there's really only one way to handle this, and that is manipulation. So she slows, and wobbles, and then lets herself fall.]

[ DDDDD:

He stops and turns around, trying to catch her. ]

[exequte]

[Aha! Surprise attack! She kicks out, aiming and trying to kick about as gently as she can while still with enough force to qualify it as a kick - she doesn't want to hurt him too much.]

[jinglebros]

[ It lands somewhere on his stomach instead of his nuts. A) thank god but B) shit! He crumples over because his stomach is abused enough already. ]

[exequte]

[She winces, re-aims, and kicks again, even more gingerly this time.]

I'm sorry!

[jinglebros]

Ow, what the fuck! Okay, no more beating up dares from either of us!

[exequte]

[She smiles weakly.]

I was just about to dare you to stop giving me those kinds of dares.

[jinglebros]

Got another dare, then?

[ Because saying that now would be weaksauce. ]

[exequte]

[There's a longish pause before she finally speaks.]

I dare you to tell me what you really think of me now.

[jinglebros]

[ Pause, then he sighs. ]

I feel like you're a bit of a stranger and I want to be close to you again.

[exequte]

Anything else?

[As far as she can see, he'd be right if he disliked her now.]

[jinglebros]

[ He shrugs. ]

I love you. Nothing's going to change that. Ever.

[ He's very firm about this. ]

[exequte]

[She takes a deep breath, holds it a moment, then lets it out.]

Okay.

Truth or dare?

[jinglebros]

...truth.

[ He's afraid of them with dares now. ]

[exequte]

[She has to think a moment.]

What's something you haven't told me?

[jinglebros]

[ Pause. ]

That I was in love?

[ She probably knew. ]

Not that it ever got returned.

[exequte]

[A little smile, slightly sad.]

Maybe it wasn't the right person.

Then I'm never going to find the right person. Too damn old by now.

I doubt that. Isn't Santa supposed to be immortal?

[ He thinks about his consolation prize and smiles. ]

[She looks at him with a little bit of suspicion when he does that.]
