I mean, if you don't want to answer something you don't have to, I won't push you about anything if you tell me that's off limits. The same goes for any joking around, you can tell me if I go too far.

[Considering what she's heard relating to the game, though, she's not assuming it's the fun kind.]

As much as I feel the same way, I could always ask something else you know! Still, I hope that you're comfortable enough with me to take the more difficult options, particularly if they're of more benefit.

[ He's being serious about this, and it shows. He's admitting a weakness. He barely ever does this. ]

[It does seem like he does, but she has to be sure, and even the thought breaks her heart. In the best way, but it does hurt. Her fingers try to grasp his sleeve.]

[ He looks her in the eye with a sincere look. ]

[Oh Jesus here we go, he's too sweet and it's going to be the death of her. She shouldn't have caught that look, it's probably more than she deserves, and she has to hide her face in a hand.]

Thank you. Me too, I would be honoured to have you as a son. I'll be more of a grandmother by then, but I swear I'll look for you when our times align.

So will I. Hell, I could keep an ear to the ground about your parents' death and find you then. Although there's a question of whether that's possible or some sort of time paradox, but that's hardly the point here and not worth worrying about. We have plenty of resources, so one way or another, I'm sure it will happen.
